One of a batch of twenty vehicles (1392 - 1411) constructed by Ipswich Railway Workshops between June 1950 and October 1951. 1400 entered service in March 1951. Originally a Composite Lavatory Brake Van. drawing number 5618. it was altered to its present layout as a Second Lavatory Brake Van in July, 1980. It was written off books by the Queensland Railways during June, 1989.
